In the UK, Bob Douglas has been promoted from Head of Synovate Healthcare's global custom business to overall Global Head of Synovate Healthcare.
Douglas, who has worked in healthcare research for more than 30 years, joined Synovate Healthcare in 2004 as MD - Europe and Asia. During his time with the firm, he has been credited with setting up the GCR (Global Client Relationships) programme for healthcare, and has been responsible for identifying best practice standards in partnership with the firm's innovation teams.
Prior to joining, he spent 16 years with TNS, latterly as MD of the International Healthcare Research division, and worked client side at Roche, Wellcome and Boehringer Ingelheim.
In his new role, London-based Douglas will assume overall responsibility for Synovate's healthcare unit, providing strategic and commercial industry specific leadership.
Reporting to Peter Huijboom, the Amsterdam-based CEO of Clients and Industries, Douglas will work in partnership with the company's geography leaders to drive healthcare research in local markets.
Former Synovate Healthcare CEO Michael Spedding recently moved into the new role of CEO, with overall responsibility for the leadership of the company's businesses in Latin America & Iberia, North Asia, South Asia, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Southern Europe, Central Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
