After five years as Director General of ESOMAR, Juergen Schwoerer resigns from his position at the end of 2001.
The process to appoint a successor is well underway and is in the hands of a specialist recruitment consultant under the direction of the ESOMAR executive. A new appointment is expected in the first half of 2002.
Until the new appointment is made, the role of the Director General will, as planned, be taken on by Mario van Hamersveld. Van Hamersveld has been deeply involved with the running of ESOMAR, both as Council Member, Treasurer, Vice President and President.
According to ESOMAR President John Kelly, "We are grateful for the many contributions Juergen has made to ESOMAR. The Society is well placed to fulfil its global mandate and promote the best of research for better decisions, worldwide."
