Following the Harris Interactive acquisition of Total Research Corporation last year, the global research and consulting firm is rebranding several business entities in the United Kingdom under one brand, HI Europe, as it embarks on building Internet research business in the country.
'We are limited by trademark infringement clauses that prohibit our use of the Harris Interactive name in Europe, and this inspired us to create this new name for our European operations,' stated Gordon Black, chairman and CEO of Harris Interactive.
Gareth Davies, HI Europe's Managing Director said, 'Harris Interactive's solid track record within the industry will certainly benefit us as we continue building our business here in Europe.'
George Terhanian, president, Harris Interactive global Internet research, who recently relocated to the United Kingdom, will manage the development of HI Europe's Internet panels for market research. He stated, 'The aim will be to take all of the great strengths that lie within these groups and channel them now into the next level of how research is conducted in Europe; and, our U.S. experience allows us to do this without 'reinventing the wheel.'
HI Europe, although centred in Europe, operates globally, with the support of Harris Interactive offices in the United States, Japan and other operations around the world. The company has reorganized into four primary divisions: Technology (formerly Total Romtec), Health Care, Business and Consumer (the combined practices of Total Research and magenta) and Data Collection Services (former Research Europe and IQ+).
Davies continued, 'We are combining strong industry experience and outstanding research methodologies, both traditional and innovative, and we look forward to the effect that these will produce for our clients.' He concluded, 'The addition of Harris Interactive's expertise in such areas as youth, media and public policy research will certainly add flavour to our current offerings.'
