In the US, former NielsenConnect President Jon Mandel has joined the Advisory Board of eXelate, a firm that has developed an open marketplace for online behavioral targeting data.
Once dubbed ‘media’s most quoted man’, Mandel left his role at Nielsen in February, when the NielsenConnect unit closed and its services were integrated into other company divisions.
Mandel has a career spanning more than three decades in offline media planning, research and buying. Before joining Nielsen in 2006, Mandel was Chief of Strategic Solutions Group M, as well as Chairman of its subsidiary, MediaCom. Before this, he had worked at Grey Advertising since the early 1970s, after a spell at General Foods and Procter & Gamble.
eXelate combines online demographic, behavioral and purchase intent targeting data in its ‘Data Anywhere’ solution, which has been developed to provide media buyers with access to data on more than 150 million unique visitors.
‘Few in the industry can claim the depth and richness of experience that John will bring to the table for eXelate,’ said founder and CEO Meir Zohar. ‘His experience in understanding the performance demands of agency media teams will help us better direct our ‘Data Anywhere’ initiative.’
