LA-based media and technology research firm Interpret has appointed Elaine Coleman as VP of Strategy and Analysis, to focus on understanding consumer behavior and uncovering insights to build market research, brand advertising and product design techniques.

Coleman has been directing consumer quant and qual research for more than 15 years. Most recently she worked at MarketCast as Executive Director of Research, heading ad testing and custom research for entertainment clients. Prior to this, she worked at new media ad agency Reactrix, where she led the design and deployment of custom brand research studies; and directed the experience design research for software development in the Java Division at Sun Microsystems.

Additionally, Coleman was a Senior Scientist at the Center for Technology in Learning at SRI International; and an Assistant Professor at the University of Delaware. She has an MA and BA from McGill University, and received her doctorate in Applied Cognitive Science from the University of Toronto.

Interpret was launched in 2006 by three former Nielsen Entertainment execs to help clients plan, test and measure content on new media platforms.
