Web Analytics Association (WAA) | May 19 2009 |
In the US, Omniture’s Senior Director of Product Marketing Matthew Langie has been elected to the Web Analytics Association (WAA) Board of Directors.
At Omniture, Langie is involved in creating products and was part of the team that launched mobile measurement solutions such as the SiteCatalyst for iPhone application. He recently helped develop a new industry event called MindMeld, which brings together leaders in online analytics to debate industry issues.
Prior to Omniture, Langie held management roles at Hewlett-Packard and business development positions for the software technology research lab at Intel. He also led the marketing for author Michael Crichton. He holds a BBA in marketing from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Langie will serve on the WAA Board for two years, during which time, his remit will be to keep members up-to-date on emerging online analytics, increase the visibility of the WAA, and the continued development and refinement of analytics metrics standards.
‘Active involvement from member companies makes the WAA a more effective organization to help shape and advance the industry,’ said Jim Sterne, co-founder and current Chairman of the WAA. ‘We welcome Mr Langie to the Board and look forward to his contributions.’
WAA was founded in 2005, to develop standards and best practices that facilitate the best use of data, technology and processes in the sector. The organization recently conducted a survey which showed that more than 96% of respondents plan to increase or maintain current spending on web analytics during the year.
