David is a Director of DVL Smith Ltd and a Professor at the University of Hertfordshire Business School, where he teaches on the MBA programme, specialising in entrepreneurialism and innovation. He is a former Chairman of the MRS and the current ESOMAR representative for the UK. He holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of London. He has extensive experience of running skills development programmes around the world and major industry training courses for the MRS and ESOMAR.
He is a Fellow of the MRS, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Fellow of the Institute of Business Consultants. He holds the MRS Silver Medal and ESOMAR’s John Downham Award for Excellence in Marketing Intelligence. He is the author of several books and numerous papers on marketing intelligence.
