Terrestial audience measurement firm Ando Media has merged with broadcast technology firm Spacial Audio to expand both firms' capabilities with their established customer bases.
Founded in 2004, Ando Media provides audience measurement and ad management solutions to enable broadcasters and publishers to monitor their audiences, as well as schedule, traffic and report on ad campaigns in real-time. Its Webcast Metrics product measures actual listener statistics, while its PodFuse solution provides ad insertion and measurement in both audio and video podcast content.
Spacial Audio was formed in 1999 to develop audio, encoder, and ad insertion software and technology for commercial broadcast and corporate clients. The firm's online streaming SAM Broadcaster system supplies playlist management, encoders, statistics and web integration.
'This merger brings together the strength of Ando's more terrestrial customer base with Spacial's large Internet-only base,' explained Ando CEO Bob Maccini. 'Together, we are now working across the entire spectrum to drive the streaming audio category to new levels.'
Both brands will continue to operate independently while the companies plan how to optimize resources and offerings in a merged entity.
