Vancouver and New York-based youth research specialist The Sound has moved into the European market with the opening of an office in London.
The new operation will be headed by international youth culture expert Andy Davidson, who joins with more than eight years' youth research experience.
Most recently, Davidson led the international youth, consumer trends, and lifestyle research arm of OTX. Prior to this, he was VP - International Insight at MTV Networks, where he was responsible for leading the broadcaster's global lifestyle research projects and creating 'Youth Trend Feed', www.mtvsticky.com . He began his research career as an Associate Director at Vegas Youth Research Agency, where he was in charge of the firm's youth trend monitor.
In his new role as Managing Director at The Sound in the UK, Davidson will add media expertise to the firm's senior management team.
Founded in Vancouver two years ago by youth research Ian Pierpoint, the agency specializes in research and brand consultancy projects for international brands such as Pepsi, Beam Global, Axe and Puma.
'As global clients re-centralize their research buying functions they want an agency that can deliver top quality local expertise at a centralized level,' explained Pierpoint, describing the reasons behind the expansion. 'We only employ senior market research professionals who can deliver smart, exciting and actionable global research.'
