GfK Names New CFO/HR Director

In Germany, GfK has appointed Pamela Knapp as its new CFO and Human Resources Director, for a period of three years from 1 November 2009.

She will take over from Christian Weller von Ahlefeld, who has agreed a premature termination of his contract following GfK's failed take-over of TNS last year. The firm says he will now be devoting his time to 'new professional challenges'.

Most recently, Knapp was a member of the Group Executive Management and CFO of the Power Transmission & Distribution Group at Siemens in Erlangen. She joined Siemens in 1992, since when, she held a variety of managerial roles in Brussels and Munich. Prior to this, she worked at Fuchs Consult, DB Morgan Grenfell and Deutsche Bank.

In her new role, Knapp's responsibilities will include overseeing the financial services, human resources and central services divisions.
