InfoGroup Fires EVP Stormy Dean

ORC parent and database giant InfoGroup has fired one of its top executives, EVP and General Manager Stormy Dean, a fourteen year veteran of the company.

The firm said in documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission that Dean's appointment had been terminated on Friday, but declined to comment further on his dismissal.

Dean previously worked for the firm as Chief Finance Officer, but was promoted to his most recent position last year, after company founder Vin Gupta was removed from his post as CEO following allegations he had misspent millions of corporate dollars.

Dean joined the company (previously known as infoUSA) in 1995 as Tax Director. He has a BS in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is a Certified Public Accountant. In 2002, he ran as a Democratic candidate for Nebraska.

On Friday, he confirmed to local press that he had been let go, and that 'there are things that have to be worked out with my employment agreement'.
