Piers Lee, Managing Director of Kadence International in Singapore, has been elected as the new President of the Market Research Society of Singapore (MRSS).
Founded in 2000, the MRSS's goals are to promote professionalism across the sector, encourage co-operation across research organisations through education and training, and uphold the standards of research and business ethics. Today, the society has more than 200 members from across 50 organisations.
Lee has worked in market research for more than 17 years. Initially from the UK, he moved to Asia in 2000 to join AMI (now Synovate) as Head of its b2b and financial services division. He set up Kadence International's first Asian office in Singapore in 2004, since when he has been involved in the development of its regional network in Asia, with a particular focus on Malaysia.
In his new role, Lee will be involved in the MRSS annual conference, and will expand the MRSS offering through additional education, training and seminars. In addition, he is keen to establish an annual award initiative that will recognise stakeholders actively contributing to the market research industry.
'It is important to showcase the achievements of the industry to the region and its contribution to the business planning of corporations who use its services,' states Lee. 'By promoting new research methods, industry developments, and case studies, the market research sector as a whole will benefit.'
