Market research social networking group The Research Club, is planning its inaugural event in the Middle East on Thursday 10 December at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dubai.
The club, which was founded more than five years ago, organises social events in London, UK; and Frankfurt and Hamburg in Germany, as well as hosting networking evenings in Amsterdam in the Netherlands and in Paris, France.
Sponsored by a number of industry organisations, the club is able to offer complimentary drinks and canapés at each of its events.
Tamara Deprez, General Manager of MENA agency Maktoob Research, will be attending the Dubai evening and comments: 'These kinds of events are not very common in the region, so it's a great opportunity for the industry to (finally) come together.'
The club welcomes all researchers, but frowns on hard-sell practices and doesn't allow speeches or formal presentations at its events.
'The principles of the club are to get as many people as possible from the research industry connected in a relaxed and enjoyable environment,' states club co-founder John Mackay. 'Itīs impossible to estimate the amount of business generated directly from the event, but if you haven't yet had the chance to attend, we'd be delighted if you can join us at the best networking events in the research industry.'
Information about forthcoming events and the club's London Christmas party can be found at www.theresearchclub.com .
