In Australia, Nielsen's online research division has promoted Matt Bruce to the position of Managing Director, from his previous role as National Sales Director.
The division delivers measurement and analysis of online audiences, advertising, video, consumer-generated media, word of mouth, commerce and consumer behaviour, and includes products previously marketed under the Nielsen//NetRatings and Nielsen BuzzMetrics brands.
Bruce joined the firm last year, prior to which, he held a number of senior positions with large media firms across the UK, US, Japan and Australia. Most recently, he was General
Manager of home improvement web site, homesite.com.au, where he more than tripled revenues.
'Australia is one of the biggest markets for Nielsen's online business and we have experienced strong growth over the past 12 months,' states Megan Clarken, MD, Asia Pacific for Nielsen's online division. 'Matt has been pivotal in achieving that growth and I am confident he will continue this success in his new role as Managing Director.'
