Survey Sampling International (SSI) has appointed Rene Bos as Managing Director, Asia Pacific, replacing Juai Kong (JK) Leong who is retiring from the firm at the end of the month.
SSI, which provides sampling solutions for survey research, reaches respondents across 72 countries via Internet, telephone and mobile. The firm was founded in 1977, and now has 17 offices in 15 countries.
Bos joins with a 25 year background in global marketing research and consulting, as well as local expertise in research activities specific to Asia Pacific, having spent several years in both Beijing and Hong Kong.
Most recently, he worked at tourism network TTSI, as Partner & Research Consultant. Prior to this he served as Executive Director, Asia Pacific at Nielsen in China, and was Director, Multi Country Research and Business Process Development at TNS. Earlier in his career, Bos held senior positions at TNS NIPO in the Netherlands.
'It's rare to find someone with Rene's extensive management and online marketing research knowledge,' states CEO Kees de Jong. 'I'm confident our clients in this region will benefit from Rene's deep understanding of online research and his business experience in Asia Pacific.'
Leong, who has managed SSI's expansion into Asia Pacific since 2005, previously worked at AIP Corporation, where he set up the firm's online access panel in Asia and built its China office and operations team. To ensure a smooth transition for clients, Leong will remain with SSI prior to retiring at the end of April.
