In the US, former OTX Research executive Patrick Comer has launched a market research technology firm, Jackson Square Group (JSG). Seed financing from investment company Voodoo Ventures will be used to support growth and add new personnel.
Based in New Orleans, JSG creates technologies to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of gathering data and intelligence on consumer markets.
Terms of the financing were not disclosed, but as part of the deal, Voodoo Ventures founder and President Chris Schultz joins JSG's Board of Directors, and Paul Stouse, CFO of Capital Investment Management, becomes a Board Observer.
'Chris has been a tremendous asset to our company as we transitioned from a development stage business to rapidly growing provider of fulfillment services to our market research partners,' states Comer. 'While our team at JSG has accomplished a lot in a relatively short time, we have a long way to go.'
Before founding the firm, Comer was SVP, Business Development at OTX, where he supported improvement of sample acquisition and matching technology, and set up the firm's Sample Services group. Prior to this, he founded and was VP, Operations at online survey sample broker Sample Czar, was a Director at IFILM Surveys, and a Researcher and a Consultant at IBM.
