In the UK, dunnhumby founders Edwina Dunn and Clive Humby are to step down as Chairman and CEO and take on non-exec roles, as company veteran Simon Hay takes on leadership of the firm next March.
dunnhumby was founded by the husband and wife team in 1989, and is best known as being the data firm behind the Tesco Clubcard loyalty scheme. In August, the firm paid the pair a £17.5m dividend, but said they had no plans to retire yet.
As part of dunnhumby's succession planning, Hay (pictured) will become CEO, following a 19 year career with the firm. He joined the Board in 1995, established dunnhumbyUSA in 2003, and returned to run the UK business in 2009.
Additionally, Mark Hinds, who runs the Tesco relationship outside the UK, will be given additional responsibilities for the UK business.
Mike Yates will be introducing a global approach to his existing role heading dunnhumby's new and emerging client relationships worldwide. He will also advise Hay on company strategy.
Andrew Hamilton will help Hay run dunnhumby operations, and step up to a broader leadership role.
Both Stuart Aitkin and Olivier Deschamps will continue in their posts as CEO of dunnhumbyUSA and CEO of dunnhumby France.
'I am honoured to take on Edwina's role,' said Hay. 'I aim to keep the momentum and culture of success she has built, and am looking forward to taking on this new role and leading my colleagues, most of whom I have worked with for many years.'
