In the UK, media and marketing analytics specialist Ebiquity is relocating to North Tyneside, as it merges its London and Newcastle offices. Around 60 new jobs have been created ahead of the move, and the firm says there is potential for further expansion within months.
Founded in 1997, Ebiquity - formerly Thomson Intermedia - offers media auditing, marketing effectiveness, competitive ad monitoring and news monitoring services.
The AIM-listed firm has clients in the UK, Europe, US, Australia and the Far East, and its new centre will supply services to clients in up to 30 different languages.
Ebiquity's association with the North East began earlier this year with the acquisition of Xtreme Information, which employs 150 people in Newcastle.
The company is to spend more than £1m to re-locate both its central London and Newcastle operations to an 18,000 sq ft facility in the Quorum Business Park in North Tyneside, where it will employ 210 staff across a range of media roles, from analysts to quality control officers.
'We have a great opportunity to achieve growth around the world and this is a fantastic location from which to do it,' explains Chief Information Officer, Paul Adams (pictured). 'The support available in this area is excellent. We had a choice between Ireland and Tyneside and one of the key reasons we came here was the help we received.'
Adams adds that the new area offers a 'great skill base', including a community of international language speakers.
