In the UK, medeConnect Healthcare Insight, the market research division of Doctors.net.uk, has appointed Anna Garofalo as Managing Director.
Doctors.net.uk boasts the vast majority of UK doctors as members, and medeConnect was launched in 2009 to offer survey access to a sample of this group.
As well as counting 9 out of 10 of the UK's largest pharma companies as clients, medeConnect also works with public sector organisations such as the Department of Health and the National Audit Office. Its team of market researchers undertakes qual and quant studies, and the firm also offers a wide range of syndicated reports about medical sales activity and prescribing in secondary care.
Garofalo joins with more than 20 years' experience of leading national and international research programmes. Most recently, she was Director of Strategic Marketing Research at healthcare consultancy Double Helix, prior to which she spent 16 years with TNS, latterly as Global Strategic Board Director, and then founded her own agency, Essense Health.
In her new role, Garofalo reports to Doctors.net.uk CEO Richard Adams, who comments: 'We are delighted to attract an individual of Anna's calibre and we will make excellent use of her expertise in domestic and cross-border healthcare market research.'
