In the US, social media monitoring and analysis firm Crimson Hexagon has appointed media veteran Patricia Gottesman as President and CEO, to oversee further development of its proprietary technology platform and accelerate growth.
Crimson Hexagon's ForSight platform is powered by patent-pending technology developed at Harvard University's Institute for Quantitative Social Science. The firm says its solution 'overcomes the limits of traditional market research' by delivering a real-time view of how engaged online consumers think and feel about a brand or issue.
Gottesman joins with a 28 year career spent at cable, content and entertainment firm Cablevision Systems Corporation, where she worked in marketing, operations, and product management roles. She joined the Crimson Hexagon Board in December.
Most recently, she served as an international technology and media consultant, with a client roster that included top US media companies and start-up digital and technology firms in the US and India. She is an Advisory Board member at comScore, Elucido Media, and The News Literacy Project, and an advisor to the Mahindra Group's Tech Mahindra subsidiary, as well as a Golden Seeds investor, supporting female entrepreneurship.
'Given our experiences with Patricia as a member of the Crimson Board,' says co-founder Gary King, 'we know that she'll drive the company's continued expansion through her leadership, technical expertise and passion for customer support.'
Gottesman added that she anticipates the years ahead as an 'aggressive expansion period' for Crimson, and for the growing interpretive value of the social intelligence industry.
