In the US, technology industry research giant Gartner has extended CEO Gene Hall's contract of employment by a further five years, to December 31, 2016.Hall has been CEO of the firm since 2004, prior to which he was a senior executive at global technology and service company Automatic Data Processing Inc. This followed sixteen years at McKinsey & Company, latterly as a Director.
His current employment agreement, which was drawn up in 2007, has now been extended for an additional five years, with automatic renewals at one-year intervals thereafter.
Under Hall's leadership, in February, Gartner posted a 17% increase in fourth quarter revenue to $382.3m, and full year 2010 revenue up 13% to $1,288.5m. In its Research division, Gartner saw Q4 revenues rise 19% to $230.6m, while full year revenue climbed 14% to $865.0m. Hall said at the time that the firm expects double-digit growth in 2011 also.
For 2010, Hall received a total compensation package of $8,178,344.
