In the UK, insight and marketing group Cello has promoted Insight Research Joint MD Jane Shirley and John Rowley, the CEO of its comms division, to the posts of Joint Group Managing Directors, reporting to the main Board.
Founded in 1983, Insight Research Group offers healthcare and consumer research from its offices in London and New York. Shirley, who is Joint MD of the firm with colleague Nicola Cowland, previously worked client side at GlaxoSmithKline and at agencies TNS and IMS.
In their new roles, Shirley and Rowley will work closely together to achieve closer integration of Cello's research and communications capabilities, and to reinforce the group's presence in the healthcare sector.
Cello CEO Mark Scott congratulates the two appointees who he says 'will focus on continuing to raise margins in the other client sectors we service through combining professional excellence, online capability and service innovation across all of our client activities.'
In March, Cello reported flat revenue for the year 2010 (£59.9m), but also a return to operating profit of £5.5m from a 2009 loss of £1.5m.
