Yan Xuan has been appointed as President of Nielsen Greater China, reporting to CEO David Calhoun and with a seat on the Nielsen Executive Council (NEC).
A native of China and educated in the US, he brings just under twenty years' experience from companies including AT&T, Microsoft, Oracle and Qualcomm. He holds a doctor of jurisprudence degree.
Calhoun says the appointment reflects Nielsen's commitment to and focus on the Greater China region, adding: 'Yan Xuan's experience in leading sales, business development, strategic investment and government affairs, and his knowledge of the Greater China market will add to the momentum of our efforts to further grow our business and accelerate our clients' growth.'
Yan Xuan himself comments: 'Not only multinational clients, [but also] local giants are growing very fast and they are not only going to compete with their counterparts in China, they are starting to expand outside of China. We are hoping to help both multinational and local Chinese clients build their local and global presences.'
