In the UK, consumer research specialist Firefish has reported a 59% increase in turnover to £6.3m for the past year. The firm has also been on a recruitment drive, resulting in the need to move to larger premises in the City of London.
Established in 2000, Firefish offers both qual and quant services. Last month, the firm launched a specialist children and families research consultancy called 'The Pineapple Lounge', and announced the appointment of ten new members of staff.
Since then, the company has appointed former FreshMinds Consultant Tony Laverty as Qualitative Associate Director, ex- Hall & Partners AD Gemma Laxton as Quantitative Associate Director, and previous CNN Analyst Frances Martin as Quantitative Senior Research Executive - bringing the company's total number of staff to 48.
Following this expansion, Firefish has moved to larger premises in Worship Street, near Broadgate.
Jem Fawcus (pictured), the owner of Firefish, comments: 'We are delighted to have attracted such passionate and talented researchers to consolidate our quant and qual teams. With the launch of The Pineapple Lounge and our ongoing development of innovative thinking, we believe that we are in a stronger position than ever to deliver unrivalled consumer understanding for our clients.'
