David Nelems, the founder of market research video streaming specialist ActiveGroup Ventures, has returned to the company as Chief Executive Officer. He left the firm in 2007 following its sale to the MVL Group.
ActiveGroup, which has offices in Atlanta, London and Sofia, develops online tools for qual market researchers and offers solutions such as chat-based interview tools and bulletin/community boards.
Nelems formed the company in 1999, as a sideline to his family business Compass Research. He then built it into a standalone company, which he sold to MVL Group in 2007.
MVL owns companies offering full-service market research (MRSI and Target Research Group), online research (CarbonView and ActiveGroup), and traditional data collection services (Quick Test/Heakin, Discovery Research Group and PhoneBase Research).
Of his new appointment, Nelems comments: 'I want to put us back at the forefront of the evolution of technology for marketing research. Many of the core people who made this company strong and who have continued to build on what we started all those years ago are still here, and I look forward to forging a new cycle of innovative thinking with the team. It's like we're getting the band back together.'
