US-based directory services specialist Neustar has acquired information and analytics company Targus Information Corp. (TARGUSinfo) for around $650m in cash.
TARGUSInfo's data and analytic services include the management of telephone number/IP address databases, and the provision of web site performance monitoring solutions. In addition, its ElementOne Analytics Platform delivers a range of techniques to quantify and describe customer behaviour.
For the 12 months ending September 30, 2011, the company generated c.$149m in revenues.
Neustar says the deal will enhance its position in the marketing analytics, address inventory management, information services and predictive analytics market for clients in the media, advertising, e-commerce and risk management sectors.
According to Lisa Hook, President and CEO: 'Neustar has long provided communications, media and marketing companies with insights derived from their own data. By combining with TARGUSinfo, we will be able to offer a much more diverse portfolio of services in the real-time information and analytics market.'
