London-based BDRC Group has expanded its presence in Asia Pacific by acquiring a stake in Sydney-based Jones Donald Strategy Partners (JDSP), which focuses on financial, retail and telecoms research and consulting. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
BDRC Group has around 100 staff and operates under the BDRC Continental and Perspective Research Services brands. The new investment strengthens its recently opened operation in Singapore, which trades as BDRC Asia and offers both a CATI facility and viewing studio.
Established in 1998, JDSP has a dozen staff and recorded revenues of more than AUD$3.5m in the year ending June 2011. Its founder Tony Jones becomes a Senior Partner at BDRC, while BDRC Continental Board Director Roger Donbavand moves to join JDSP in Australia as Managing Partner.
Group CEO Dr Cris Tarrant comments: 'With Asia increasingly important to the growth plans of many of our clients we have a strategic goal to build our presence in the region. Jones Donald is an excellent fit for us, and with Roger moving to Sydney we anticipate the businesses working very effectively together.'
