US-based word-of-mouth specialist Bazaarvoice has relocated Chief Client Officer Mark Riggs to London, where he has taken up the post of General Manager for Europe, tasked with raising the profile of the company's solutions across the continent.
Based in Austin, Texas, Bazaarvoice offers technology, analytics and expertise to help companies enhance the online shopping experience with related social media applications. Last summer, the firm partnered with directories giant Yell Group to provide the latter's more than 1.3 million advertisers with analysis of online customer conversations, as well as insights about online consumer sentiment and behaviour.
Riggs joined Bazaarvoice's US operations two years ago to help shape the firm's customer strategy and build its team. Previously, he worked at software firm Endeca Technologies as SVP, World-Wide Customer Solutions, overseeing the company's consulting practice, internal and external education, support and customer care teams. Earlier, he was VP of Global Services, EMEA at BI specialist Business Objects, where he led the consulting and training divisions across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and held leadership positions at Cambridge Technology Partners.
In his new role, Riggs will manage the European region, overseeing strategic planning, business operations and management of key functions including sales, channels, services and marketing. He will also be responsible for expanding the Bazaarvoice team through Europe, across its current European offices in London, Munich, Paris and Stockholm.
Founder and CEO Brett Hurt comments: 'Mark is an extremely talented and focused leader, and his experience will be critical in creating awareness of the value Bazaarvoice solutions bring to brands across Europe. He proved himself as a global executive in the Chief Client Officer role, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing the impact he has for Bazaarvoice and our clients, partners, and prospects in Europe.'
