In Brazil, AppTech - which specializes in mobile smartphone and web-centric applications - has launched a new app to enable advertisers to ascertain the age, gender, and ethnicity of their audience.
Developed in partnership with facial recognition software firm Cognitec Tecnologia Brazil and data processing specialist BrScan Tecnologia, the new 'ReconAge' tool uses real-time biometric face recognition systems to help advertisers target products to the most relevant demographics.
Explains AppTech CEO Elias Rocha: 'With the launch of ReconAge, we intend to introduce the usefulness of biometric algorithms applied to mobile devices in the field of marketing. The possibilities are virtually limitless.'
ReconAge has been built to run on an Android, with versions for iPhone and iPad scheduled for release in March.
