In the US, panel and research technology provider Toluna has launched a new methodology called SmartSelect, to enable researchers to pick potential survey respondents according to specific demographic, attitudinal and behavioral characteristics.John Bremer, Toluna's Chief Research Officer (pictured), says that the new solution should mean respondents provide 'more accurate' information. He adds: 'The theoretical underpinnings of SmartSelect lie in a category of statistical work known as selection-bias modeling. By developing the solution, we are transforming theory into practice in a novel way that will engender a far deeper sense of confidence and trust in many types of online research, such as tracking studies that depend on multiple sample sources.'
Toluna's new service is currently only available to clients who run projects with US-based respondents, but will soon be rolled out across other parts of the world.
