Cris Tarrant and Adam DonaldsonThe buy raises BDRC Group's annual turnover above £20m. The Group already includes full service agency BDRC Continental, data collection specialist Perspective Research Services and two recent arrivals, BDRC Asia in Singapore and BDRC Jones Donald in Sydney.

ESA helps clients improve customer experience, combining in-store marketing insights, customer feedback and consultancy on operational excellence. The firm operates a panel of over 10,000 auditors, interviewers and mystery shoppers as well as a CATI unit.

ESA Chief Exec Adam Donaldson and all 35 members of his team retain their positions and remain based in the St Alban's office. Three BDRC Group senior execs will be added to ESA's Board: Group Chairman Ivor Stocker as Chairman of ESA; Group CEO Dr Cris Tarrant; and Perspective MD Richard Sheldrake.

According to Tarrant, the buy continues the Group's strategy of providing clients with 'a world class suite of research tools and techniques'. He adds: 'ESA is a great fit with our existing businesses and we are confident that we can introduce their services to our clients and vice versa.'

Donaldson says the sale 'combines the market leading expertise of ESA in tracking in-store marketing activity and customer experience measurement with the recognised leadership of BDRC Group in analytics and consulting' - helping clients to significantly improve 'both the experience and the spend of their customers.'
