UK-based media and marketing analytics firm Ebiquity has reported a 20% increase in revenue to £52.9m for the year ended 30 April 2012, driven by its Analytics division which grew by 56% to £27.9m during the period.Founded in 1997 as Thomson Intermedia, North Tyneside-based Ebiquity offers media auditing and marketing effectiveness services, as well as competitive ad and news monitoring.
For the period, operating profit rose by 55% to £8.2m, while profit before tax was £7.6m (2011: £4.8m), and reported profit before tax was £2.6m (2011: loss of £1.8m).
Reacting to a 'growing demand' for data-driven evaluation, Ebiquity acquired Australian media analytics consultancy Falkner Media Management (FMM), strengthened its presence in Russia through the acquisition of a 50.1% stake in its media practice partner The Joined Up Media Company (JUMC), and bought reputation specialist Echo Research.
