In the UK, media intelligence firm RealWire has added trend data and sentiment analysis to Lissted, its Twitter-based media relations platform.
RealWire's Lissted service streams and indexes around 120,000 tweets per day, monitoring conversations in real-time for subject, content, and shared links. Every profile has been individually created by the firm's team, which researches each individual's interests, geography, outlet, and role.
As well as displaying the top trends across its database, Lissted now enables subscribers to look for trends within a specific group, showing the most talked about topics at a specific time or within a particular field of interest.
The new sentiment analysis feature - which is powered by Lexalytics' Salience Engine - assesses the language used in a tweet, to gauge whether tone is positive, negative, or neutral.
RealWire CEO Adam Parker comments: 'With news generally breaking first on Twitter, it is increasingly essential for PR professionals to be able to keep pace with stories as they happen. Lissted makes this easy, meaning that subscribers are always in touch with the current news agenda and resulting media conversation.'
