Gattinella Takes Helm at DoubleVerify

In New York, online ad verification service DoubleVerify has appointed Wayne Gattinella as CEO. He replaces co-founder Oren Netzer who takes up the position of Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer, with a focus on new product development.

Wayne GattinellaDoubleVerify is used to check that ads are placed above the online 'fold' - specifically, that 50% or more of an ad is seen in the browser window for at least one second. This service captures two views of the same impression through the use of integrated pixel tracking and web-based crawlers called Virtual Visitors.

The company will use $33m raised earlier this month to expand its proprietary technology. It also partnered recently with Kantar Media Compete to develop a system called Ad VRF, to help advertisers find out if the specific audience they target have actually seen their online ads.

Gattinella (pictured) joins from health information provider WebMD, where he worked for the past ten years and latterly served as President & CEO. Prior to this, he was EVP the Americas and CMO at Internet service provider PeoplePC, and EVP Marketing at managed healthcare company Medco Health. Earlier in his career, he led product development and consumer sales and marketing at MCI Telecommunications.

Netzer said that while he has enjoyed serving as CEO of DoubleVerify since co-founding the company four years ago, he is confident that the firm will benefit from Gattinella's experience in building brands.
