DIY online survey firm SurveyMonkey has announced the launch of a developer portal and a new set of data APIs, powered by software firm Mashery, which it says will help users integrate its products into mobile and web applications.
The API will give partners access to direct CRM integration, real time response alerts and respondent demographic snapshots, and has already been used by social media management system HootSuite, which will integrate SurveyMonkey into its forthcoming dashboard.
Other possible uses of the Interface include the creation of customer support alerts based on responses identified as negative or positive; generation of quick demographic snapshot of respondents; integration with email newsletter contact lists and CRM solutions, and distribution of survey URLs; and addition of responses into an aggregated HR dashboard to show all HR-related metrics in one place.
The company says it will continue to add innovative features, including a callback option to asynchronously notify applications of new survey responses as they come in. CEO Dave Goldberg says: 'This is one more step toward our vision of making it possible for everyone to get the insights they need to make better decisions, and now companies of all sizes have access to our powerful online survey platform.'
SurveyMonkey was founded in 1999, is headquartered in Palo Alto, CA, and has more than 200 employees based in the USA and Portugal. Web site: www.surveymonkey.com .
