March 6 2013

US retail data specialist Retailigence has secured $6.3m in new funding, which it plans to use to drive expansion of its 'O2O' online-to-offline local marketing and commerce platform.

Jeremy GeigerThe firm uses inventory data obtained directly from retailers to deliver targeted communications to shoppers using location-enabled devices. It also offers location-based analytics, helping clients understand which stores are better engaging mobile shoppers, and identifies which markets are responding to mobile marketing and programs.

Through the O2O platform, clients can measure activities that originate online, which eventually results in a shopper going to a physical store.

Existing investors DFJ, Quest, and Motorola Solutions Venture Capital participated in the Series B funding, along with new investors including Telenav and OPT.

Retailigence CEO and founder Jeremy Geiger (pictured) comments: 'With Retailigence, marketers can alert shoppers on their mobile devices exactly when a particular product is available and indicate where it can be purchased at the closest retail location, increasing in-store sales to the benefit of both product brands and retailers.'
