Tokyo-based panel operator AIP Corporation has opened an office in Jakarta, Indonesia, and made an unspecified investment in local MR firm Pixel Research to enhance its market knowledge and services in the country.Indonesia boasts a population of 240 million and relatively stable economic growth, and AIP already runs a proprietary consumer panel in the country. The new office and alliance will allow it to conduct surveys using other methods, including local fact-finding, home visits, group interviews and central location tests.
Pixel has offices in the capital and in Bandung, plus data collection teams in three more key cities, Surabaya, Medan and Makassar.
Yesterday, AIP announced a partnership with Sydney-based MyOpinions to offer their clients combined sample and related research services across Asia. AIP has proprietary panels in 15 markets and already has offices in Tokyo (HQ), Shanghai, Seoul, Hong Kong, New York, London, Singapore and New Delhi. Web site: www.aip-global.com .
