UK-based research and consulting firm Populus has appointed Andy Barker as Head of Qualitative Research and Ian Bramley as a Director, focusing on the media sector.Populus is best known for its work in polling and political research, and comprises two main practices: Politics & Reputation headed by Rick Nye, and Customer & Consumer led by former ICM Director Gary Muncaster.
Barker joins from consumer insight and market research specialist Engage Research where he served as Qualitative Director. Before this he was Head of Qualitative Research at YouGov, a Director of boutique agency Spinach, and MD of Qual at Research International.
Bramley worked most recently at Ipsos as Director leading the Custom Research team within the MediaCT division. Earlier, he held senior roles with a number of media and telecoms companies, including Warner Bros and O2.
