Online ad targeting specialist Phorm has officially launched operations in mainland China, and says it is already averaging 4.3 million users per day.
The company said in a statement that it is now in the process of negotiating with both advertisers and publishers in the country. Test campaigns are expected to start in the next few months, before moving to full commercial operation next year.
Phorm strikes partnerships with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and users opt in to its PhormDiscover service, which then allows publishers and web sites to personalise their content and advertising to each individual. Operations in Turkey are said to be advancing rapidly, and the China launch has been in planning for some time.
