In the US, pharma researcher Decision Resources Group (DRG) has acquired Cambridge, Mass-based life sciences data analytics and business intelligence company Relay Technology Management. Terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2008 by David Greenwald and Brigham Hyde, Relay offers a range of trend analytics, drug development and data visualization services, and its flagship product - Business Development Live! - provides a platform through which users can access data from the biopharma sector.
DRG, which was itself acquired by pharma product manufacturer Piramal Healthcare in 2012, says the acquisition will mean new products for early stage pipeline analysis, drug target evaluation and KOL identification; a 'world class' data and analytics leadership team; and proprietary natural language processing technology, healthcare ontology, and a data and insight visualization platform.
Hyde (pictured) adds: 'We look forward to applying our next-generation, interactive data analytics platform to DRG's strong multidimensional offering known for top-level analysis and insight. Together, we will deliver the type of data-driven solutions and predictive analytics that is critical to the current competitive environment of today's biopharma and device organizations.'
