North American Leader for Realeyes

March 24 2014

London-based emotional analytics specialist Realeyes has appointed former Nielsen Director of Sales Bill Jaris as its first President of North America, based in New York.

Realeyes uses an opted-in panel of viewers and analyses their emotional response via facial expressions in real-time using regular web/mobile cameras. Analysis is based on six basic emotions, plus physiological measures such as attention and heart rate. The firm has an R&D team in Budapest and sales offices in New York and Boston, and is backed by $7.3 million in funding from Entrepreneurs Fund and SmartCap.

Jaris reports to London-based CEO Mihkel Jäätma and will focus on accelerating the company's growth in the North American market. He held a senior sales role at ad effectiveness specialist Vizu, before it was acquired by Nielsen where he became Director of Sales - Digital Platforms and Networks. Earlier in his career, he held business development roles at predictive marketing firm Acerno Inc. and behavioural targeting company TACODA, now part of AOL; was EVP and founding member for Internet MR firm @plan Inc; and worked in advertising sales with Time Inc., Times-Mirror and the Hearst Corporation.

Jäätma says of the new arrival, 'Bill is one of the most accomplished digital analytics and advertising technology professionals in the whole industry with 20+ years of unparalleled experience in scaling up analytics start-ups across traditional and online media and within mobile technologies. We are very pleased to have him lead our efforts in the U.S. and beyond.'
