New York-based print and digital publisher NewBay Media has acquired television research and analysis firm Ratings Intelligence (RatingsIntel), in order to provide its clients with access to data-driven industry research reports. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2006 as CableU, and renamed RatingsIntel last year after forming a partnership with Nielsen, the service monitors and analyzes television network performance and programming trends, while providing daily ratings analysis, in addition to weekly, monthly and quarterly special reports.
Following the acquisition, NewBay's editorial resources will enhance RatingsIntel's independent analysis and business intelligence for the industry. RatingsIntel CEO, Operations and Subscriber Relationships, Reess Kennedy, will remain with the company.
NewBay CEO Steve Palm (pictured) comments: 'The addition of Ratings Intelligence immediately strengthens our ability to serve the television production community and also opens up the door for future data research possibilities for our music, Pro AV, consumer electronic, and education audiences.'
