Business information provider Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) has acquired cloud-based analytics and business intelligence specialist Indicee. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2006 and based in Vancouver and San Francisco, Indicee combines a business intelligence (BI) platform and a social media environment to allow business users to collaborate, discuss and make decisions with their data - inside and outside the company firewall.
As part of the acquisition, Indicee's Vancouver-based employees will join the global D&B team as part of the newly created Cloud Innovation Center, which will be led by Indicee founder and CEO Mark Cunningham (pictured). The center will tap into expertise in cloud-based technology, in order to develop new ways to deliver D&B's proprietary data and analytics. Moving D&B's flagship product DNBi to the cloud will be an early priority for the center.
Cunningham comments: 'Over the past seven years we have completely changed the model for business intelligence. Thanks to the power of the Indicee technology and an exceptional team of innovators here in Vancouver, we have introduced unparalleled agility, sophistication and usability to the BI market. We are thrilled to join the D&B team and to bring our expertise in cloud computing and business intelligence to its growing global customer base.'
Earlier this month, D&B acquired the social media data matching unit of online data aggregation specialist Fliptop.
