London-based insight consultancy Firefish has revealed impressive revenue figures for the first year of operation of its US office - $1.9m - and says it will be further expanding its team 'in the coming months' to cope with demand.
The New York office was the second overseas opening for Firefish after Amsterdam, and is headed up as MD by former TLE (The Leading Edge) partner Liam Daley. Dee Campbell, also a former TLE exec, joined in March as Research Manager.
Daley says the initial success is testament to the firm's 'blend of innovative approaches to research, combined with smart thinking from an experienced US team', adding: 'We've run massive global studies on the future of major luxury brands as well as small and highly creative studies to help launch new products - all with a steadily growing team.'
Firefish as a whole reported a big increase in revenues for its financial year 2014, up 18 percent to £9.55m. The Amsterdam office showed the biggest gains for the year, with revenue up 141% at £625,000.
The group, whose home page is at www.firefish.ltd.uk, includes quantitative division TheNumbersLab, launched in 2012, family, kids and teens specialist The Pineapple Lounge, and sister company Firefilms, specialists in using film and technology as part of the research process. Its original, qualitative department was founded in 2000.
