Online research technology company uSamp has introduced a tool called Instant.ly Shelf Score, giving CPG manufacturers and retailers a measure of consumers' intent to purchase recently launched products.
Shelf Score's output includes a top ten ranking of innovative new products based on the same consumer interest data. The new tool is derived from uSamp's recently launched Instant.ly Concept Test, designed to help consumer packaged goods brands and retailers screen new product ideas - including new packaging, flavors and line extensions.
Justin Wheeler, uSamp VP Product Innovation and Business Development, comments: 'Instant.ly Shelf Score was designed to give companies instant access and an early reading on consumer sentiment about new products and brands. Traditionally, CPGs track consumer sentiment using mechanics that can take weeks or even months to generate feedback. Now, we can spot products that are often released in test markets, or as limited editions, and readily score them for national interest.'
