Social media analytics specialist Visible Technologies has launched a set of geolocation tools which pinpoint specific locations and language segments for marketers wanting to target social media content.
Visible, which acquired its WPP-owned competitor Cymfony for an undisclosed amount in 2012, says the new tools will be able to distinguish between who is 'local' in discussions and who is 'visiting'. They will also help users with brand management and customer care, digital marketing initiatives and research segmentation.
Visible's CEO, former Cymfony President Richard Pasewark, comments: 'The popularity of mobile devices for social media has significantly increased the amount of social data available to marketers. This data presents a new opportunity to understand and reach specific consumer audiences and evaluate markets with Visible's geo-location capabilities. Global brands can use these types of insights to assess the voice of a customer at a specific location, analyze marketing impact, and make decisions on spend and consumer engagement.'
