In the US, Directions Research Inc. (DRI) has appointed Joseph Hall as SVP of Big Data Custom Solutions, Miguel Martinez-Baco as Vice President of Qualitative and Hispanic Insights, and Jeff Eha as an Account Manager. The firm has also promoted Jim Lane and Tim Laake.
Directions is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio and provides research in a broad range of sectors from CPG and financial services to pharma and telecoms. Hall joins with more than 30 years' experience, the last 25 at IRI in roles including overseeing client retention efforts, developing business plans for geographic expansion into Asia and Latin America, and developing shopper data analytics. Prior to this, he spent six years at BASES. In his new role, Hall will be responsible for helping clients link their internal data with DRI's survey results.
Martinez-Baco has more than fifteen years' research experience with a specific focus on Hispanic insights. Most recently, he served as VP, Qualitative and Hispanic Services at MRSI (now part of ORC International), prior to which he was a Qualitative Researcher at Market Segment Research in Miami. He began his career at Procter & Gamble. At DRI his focus will be on qual research as well as Hispanic insights and consulting.
Eha has more than twenty years' research experience and is rejoining DRI having worked there from 1997 to 2004, managing a number of CPG client accounts. His most recent role was at Midmark Corporation, where as Senior Manager, Customer & Market Knowledge, he provided insights to the business development team. Before this, he was Marketing Research Manager, Global Business Insights at Ethicon Endo-Surgery, and he was an Account Executive at MRSI.
Lane has been promoted to Chief Marketing Officer from his current role of SVP - Marketing and Client Services. He has more than 25 years' MR industry experience, having begun his career in the CREST division of NPD Research, and owned his own agency Market Intelligence Inc, which was acquired by Catalina Marketing. Laake moves up to Senior Vice President, working with key accounts and helping expand the business into new areas. He joined DRI in 1997.
