In Chicago, web based 3-D virtual store research specialist InContext Solutions has received $12m in Series D funding, which it will use to fuel its expansion plans.
Founded in 2009, InContext is a full service company which conducts research using online 3-D environment simulations and has developed applications for virtual store research, collaborative store planning and e-commerce. Its flagship shopper marketing platform ShopperMX enables manufacturers and retailers to collaborate over the web within a 3-D virtual store simulation, offering capabilities for testing store, aisle and category layouts, product packaging, in-store marketing, and shopper flow within a store.
New funding comes from Beringea LLC, along with existing investors Plymouth Venture Partners and Hyde Park Venture Partners.
CEO Mark Hardy (pictured) comments: 'With this funding round, we will be able to exponentially boost our growth and offer enhanced virtual solutions for clients. Our plan is to increase our dedicated and knowledgeable staff, invest further in our ShopperMX technology, and support expansion into Europe.'
