SurveyMonkey Sets Up Advisory Committee

Palo Alto, CA-based online DIY research specialist SurveyMonkey has set up a 'Survey Advisory Committee', tasked with advising the firm on topics such as survey design, quality and innovation.
Committee members include:
- Mark Baldassare - President and CEO of the Public Policy Institute of California
- Dick Boyce - Recently retired from running Worldwide Operations at global investment partnership TPG Capital, and former Chairman of both Burger King Corporation and Del Monte Foods
- Diane Colasanto - Co-founder and former President of Princeton Survey Research Associates, and Head of the Communication and Policy Research Division of Gallup
- Laura Evans - VP, Audience Development and Data Science at Scripps Networks Interactive
- Peter Hart - Pollster and public policy expert, and founder of political consultancy Hart Research
- Andrew Kohut - Founding Director of the Pew Research Center, former President of Gallup, and founder of Princeton Survey Research Associates
- Mark Smith - Founding President and CEO of philanthropic organization California HealthCare Foundation.
The committee will meet quarterly with
Jon Cohen (pictured), SurveyMonkey VP of Survey Research, along with other of the firm's executives, to provide feedback on its research agenda and product roadmap.
Cohen comments: 'The committee is set up to guide and advise the company on the development of new technologies and techniques that will define the next era of opinion research. In addition, the firm plans to establish an Academic Advisory Committee in Q1 2015, to focus on the primary and theoretical practice of today's public opinion polling, behavioral and attitudinal research, and international studies.
