In Australia, Paul Dovas is stepping down as CEO of not-for-profit industry body the AMAA after sixteen years' service in the organisation and its predecessor. The AMAA said he intends to pursue other opportunities in digital media.
The AMAA (Audited Media Association of Australia) was formed 18 months ago by the merger of the country's Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) and Circulations Audit Board (CAB).
Dovas (pictured) was appointed Director of Audit Services of the ABC and CAB in September 2008, having previously served as a consultant to the industry bodies on matters digital. In August 2010 he replaced Gordon Towell as Chief Executive. During his time with the organisation Dovas led many new audit services and industry initiatives, including the reporting of Digital Versions, the auditing of web traffic and a brand safety code of conduct; and he led the successful integration of the two organisations last year. He has also served with the International Federation of Audit Bureaux of Circulations (IFABC), in roles including Director on the Executive Board and President of the Asia Pacific Bureaux.
AMAA Chairman Dr Stephen Hollings said Dovas had been 'a key figure in delivering accountability and transparency for the media the AMAA represents, in particular in the complex digital space.' He added: 'Paul's knowledge, commitment and passion for digital media and advertising provides a solid legacy for the AMAA to follow.'
